Gently brush: Remove the piece of jewelry and gently brush it with the soft toothbrush. Pay particular attention to crevices, settings, and the backs of stones.
Rinse: Rinse the jewelry thoroughly under running, lukewarm water. Important: Be sure to close the sink drain beforehand or use a fine strainer to prevent any water from being lost!
Dry & polish: Pat the jewelry dry with the microfiber cloth and gently polish it.
A special tip for heavily tarnished silver
If your silver jewelry has turned dark or black from contact with air (silver sulfide), dish soap alone is often no longer enough. This is where the aluminum foil and salt method comes in:
Line a small bowl with aluminum foil (shiny side up).
Add 1–2 tablespoons of salt.
Place the silver jewelry in the foil so that it is in direct contact with the foil.
Pour hot (not boiling) water over it until everything is covered.
